Holiday Celebrations

Via

The always fabulous and wonderfully creative Kelle Hampton, blogger of Enjoying the Small Things, shared this super fun holiday bucket list on her Insta stories and you bet your hot cocoa I snagged a screen shot!  She's shared others before and I always appreciate her way of celebrating the heck out of all the things.  She is truly #goals when it comes to loving her tribe and embracing life daily.  I promptly sent this to my girlfriends with a "want to give it a go as best we can???" message and each committed at least partially.

As I'm finding out more each day, I am interested in what I've come to think of as elaborate simplicity.  It's insanely not complex; I like to celebrate every day stuff with little extras people often reduce to only "special occasions".  I'm a strong believer in wearing the good shoes, using the nice dishware, and throwing down some confetti if it means you're enjoying the now while appreciating all that's brought you there.

I'm going to print this out and hang where it'll be in our faces and unforgettable to incorporate into our upcoming holiday season.  Won't you join in as well?

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center?              ...

Simple blessings

I’m lying in bed, next to a snoring husband and my baby girl dogter sprawled out cozy as can be, while the rain falls down upon our roof. Gone are the days of spending a Saturday night downtown at a club, throwing beers back in a honky think, or galavanting around to anywhere with the lights on. And I’m not mad about it. Not even a little bit. There is tilt no place I’d rather be than with hunter, Roni and our comfy sweet little home happily netflixing and writing this here post. It’s a good feeling indeed. I count my blessings extra on nights like this and say a few additional prayers for love and comfort to continue on. I truly don’t ask for more than health, happiness, and love. Anything else is gravy. To simple blessings for all.
