I am so excited to begin a new year!

I don't have drastic plans or crazy intentions, I'm just so eager to see what another chapter brings!

2016 was in short a very, very good year.  The biggest thing this year will be marked in memory for is our business.  Not only did I make the jump to working full time for mine and Hunter's business, but we have grown in all categories we use to measure our development.  I am thrilled to wake up each morning and get to work; I don't ever get the Sunday night sads because tomorrow is Monday and wahhh I have to go back to an unfulfilling or unhappy work situation.  That, my friends, is absolutely nothing to snarl at fo sho!

On a personal note, my dad battled cancer twice and kicked its ass twice in 2016.  For that, I am happy to move forward to a new year.  No one wants their parent to struggle or get sick and I am thankful every day for healing and forward movement in this wild and beautiful life we get to live.

For 2017, I suppose I do have some intentions, as I like to call them:

A grateful heart- I believe myself to be a very familiar person with gratitude.  I plan to further grow my appreciation for little and big things alike.

Stay hydrated- if you've read this blog for even a few posts you know I'm always barking about water consumption. #brokenrecordpartyofone

Work hard, be nice- one of my favorite quotes by Conan O'Brien explains this concept perfectly.  I can attest it works and will keep it up.

Digital detox- Especially with working in online marketing/advertising and being so in tune with the digital landscape, I'm a huge proponent for stepping back and enjoying a world without such connectivity.  It's all about balance.

Celebrate love and laughter- two of my favorite things in life.  I will hug my Hunter and baby girl dogters as much as possible, I will embrace giggling uncontrollably, and I'll look forward to every opportunity to wear extra glitter.  Who am I kidding, any ol'Wednesday is a fine day for extra glitter!

Thankful for a fabulous and productive 2016, motivated to see what we can do with 2017.  I wish the same for you and yours <3 span="">

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w

What makes me happy...Blogtober Day 19

What a timely topic to write about, seeing as its Sunday, and I LOVE Sundays! They make me very happy. Lots of things make me happy though. I am so thankful to say that! So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center?                                                                               mk
