What's in my bag?

J'adore June is just past the halfway point and it has been a blast and a half thus far.  To kick off yesterday, you know Monday, Sundays' bitchy sister, the topic asked what's in my bag...

Which got me thinking, I can pretty much surmise what's in my bag any given day as:
a)Professional
b)Pretty
c)Otherwise Fabulous

Allow me to elaborate...

Professional:
-My beloved planner from Target.  I believe in social media and the tech part of life, however nothing beats pen to paper planning and organizing.

-Business cards all day; for both my social media business services and for my baking business with my two gal pals.  Never throw away a business card!

-I'm a writer so I always pack a pen or ten.  Even with a cute, smaller clutch I throw one in my bag. In day to day, I carry my stack in an adorable little case.

Pretty:
-My cutesy Clinique makeup bag that is full of life's daily essentials:
-lots of lip lip stuff
-floss
-face powder to freshen up with
-chamomile deliciousness
-not shown but always with me: cherry cough drops, Advil and bobby pins.
Essentials people.

Otherwise Fabulous:
-The bag itself lands here.  Kate Spade has my spade heart for life

-LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls sunnies...I got them for such an amazing deal that it's worth some extra detail.  I got two pairs, one black and gray and the ones you see in the pic.  I paid around $10 for the two pairs combined(!!!) because of them being on sale, plus I had a coupon.  Let me tell you, that equated to around 85% savings.  So yea, in the fabulous column they go.

-I love my teal/tortoise frame glasses for my ever so unique prescription; I am far sighted in one eye and near in the other. If that isn't fab, well I don't know what is my friends.

There we have it, a glimpse at what's in my bag on any given day.  Spill it (not on the floor-I hate that!), what's in yours?

Until we meet again,
M

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w

What makes me happy...Blogtober Day 19

What a timely topic to write about, seeing as its Sunday, and I LOVE Sundays! They make me very happy. Lots of things make me happy though. I am so thankful to say that! So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center?                                                                               mk
