The Graduate

So yesterday was the first day in 39 days I have missed a post. I have steadily been doing The Daily Tay Instagram Challenge in May, which is halfway done today, and in April I participated in all #30PhotosinBetween with Helene in Between. While I made it my own personal goal to write every as well as post to the Instagram, yesterday took up all my time and excitement and thrill for living life in real life. But man did I take some pictures! Allow me to elaborate...

This guy graduated with his degree that he's been focused on for a bit of time.

Hunter has worked so tremendously hard to get this accomplishment accomplished, never wavering or hesitating to make it clear as his goal. Pausing his pursuit only for a bit because of work commitments a few years ago, Hunter jumped back in full spirited to get it done.

Working full time, maintaining friendships and relationships, and lord knows doing whatever I asked of him these last few years, Hunter balanced each commitment with dedication, focus, and extreme intention to get it done. Heart so so so full, I could not be prouder of him!

To make things extra special, Hunter's mom Sharon, Shanizzy as I call her, graduated too! How neat!! They both gave this everything they had and when they realized they could have this chance to walk together, it became all the more special.

Talk about a proud family!

Nothing will ever compare to the feeling you get when witnessing someone reach a goal. What a powerful experience! I am beyond grateful to stand beside this guy just as he did for me:

Congrats my love! Go Knights!!!!!!!

Until we meet again,
M

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center?              ...

Simple blessings

I’m lying in bed, next to a snoring husband and my baby girl dogter sprawled out cozy as can be, while the rain falls down upon our roof. Gone are the days of spending a Saturday night downtown at a club, throwing beers back in a honky think, or galavanting around to anywhere with the lights on. And I’m not mad about it. Not even a little bit. There is tilt no place I’d rather be than with hunter, Roni and our comfy sweet little home happily netflixing and writing this here post. It’s a good feeling indeed. I count my blessings extra on nights like this and say a few additional prayers for love and comfort to continue on. I truly don’t ask for more than health, happiness, and love. Anything else is gravy. To simple blessings for all.
