Blogtober: Best Vacation Ever!

Vacations, vacations. Is there ever such a thing as too many? Overruled! I say this to anyone who advises yes.

While my favorite vacay memory is a toss up from NYC, (you remember the one where Hunter and I were almost arrested in an underground purse ring bust? No? Please refresh your laughter/fear altimeter here), or our first New Orleans visit together, I shall go with.......

Nawlins for the win!

This was the best because it was the first vacation Hunter and I ever took together; New Orleans is an amazing city full of heart, love, and damn delicious food; and we just happened to wake up on our second day to find snow, which happened to be the first time in 20 years it snowed there! We, as two born and raised Florida kids, had never, ever experienced this mythical creature known as snow. Hunter had only seen flurries in Alabama and I had nada. Very exciting to say the least, and far too cold for my sunshine state living self.

Note to self: Never pick up a snowball with cotton gloves

How many people can say they have a snow encrusted picture of this?

Making frands wherever we went

It was so much fun that we went back exactly one year later with a friend and had yet another amazing time, minus the snow. We should go back 20 years from that first visit and see if it happens again. Hmm...14 hour road trip?? Again?? Perhaps, or perhaps I could just scratch Hunter's eyes out in the comfort of our own living room. Because I don't care who you are, who you're with, spending that amount of time in the car with the same person will draw the devil right out of ya.

Totally kidding. Don't we look happy? This was the last day of the trip as we were leaving the city:

Tell me, was your favorite vacay hot or cold in temp?

Until we meet again,
M

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center?              ...

So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M
