I am pumped for Blogtober 2014

I'm very excited for Blogtober 2014 hosted by Taylor from The Daily Tay, and Helene from Helene in Between. So much so, that recently when my computer had a glitch, I got very stern with the nice man named Adam from Apple Care. "Adam, this needs to be fixed ASAP. I have Blogtober right around the corner."

I think this is a brilliant venture all around. I particularly enjoy the notion of writing for 31 days consecutively, and the idea of being prompted through a daily topic, the most. I've always been a fan of being given a prompt or parameters for a piece. It sparks the utmost of fire from me.

My goal is to write for all 31 days. I can say the obvious, that it will be a challenge, but what good is a passion if it doesn't challenge you?

The topics right off the initial read through of the list, that really grab my excitement, would be:
Day 4. Favorite Photo You've Posted on Instagram
Day 12. Best advice you've been given
Day 14. Funniest memory from childhood(This is already so hard to narrow down, just at first thought. Thank God for my childhood.)
Day 15. Favorite quote and why
Day 20. Your biggest fear
Day 26. Who'd play you in a movie
(This one is the most daunting to me at this moment. I have zero clue. Fun to ponder already.)

I'm extra excited to read other bloggers responses too. This is just one mere example of the blogging community, truly being a community. It's like our very own virtual block party. Ohhh, like the crawfish boil type! I'll bring the bibs!

So fun!!

Until we meet again,

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center?              ...

What makes me happy...Blogtober Day 19

What a timely topic to write about, seeing as its Sunday, and I LOVE Sundays! They make me very happy. Lots of things make me happy though. I am so thankful to say that! So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M
