Hereee Bloggy Bloggy Blogger

Well look who decided to show up again on her blog. This girl. Super chaotic sched lately makes for a bad lifestyle blogger. Bad blogger, Meggie, bad blogger. But, when life knocks you off your blogging post, you get right back up and right to it! So, in order to fully cleanse my mind of guilt from avoiding this space lately, a recap shall commence:

In early July I gathered some ditties from the party shop and sent out a come one, come all birthday dinner invite. See, my momma, my boo boo Izzy, her precious gem baby Emmett, and Hunty's babiest sister Tori all celebrate their being the month of the ruby. What better way to enjoy time together than to head to a fun dinner event. Specifically, Maggiano's Italian Restaurant. Never heard of it? Shame, shame. Interested in pictures of drool inducing, salivating at the thought of it food? Whoops. We were all tooooo busy enjoying endless rounds of Chop Chop salad, Bruscetta, Chicken and Spinach Mancotti WITH ALFREDO SAUCE(heavennn, I'm in heavennn), Chicken Marsala so tender it cut with a fork, and quite literally the very best Creme Brulee I will ever eat in my life. Maggiano's, I think I love you.

We did however capture some shots of the party people since we totally were non-winners at getting grub shots:

Wining, dining, and shining I'd say.

Mommas Knizzy & Shanizzy with Mr. 1 year old Emmett Richard! <3
One of my best good friends Izzle and my Tori. Luckily, there was no need for "You can't sit with us!" It was "you can sit with us and have yourself a plate of deliciousness right now."

My doll baby Tori and her birthday crown the birthday fairy remembered to bring! Such a sport our TT is!

Momma Miaaa, er, Momma Kathyyy, enjoying her espresso at 10pm. That's my momma!

Obviously, our birthday celebration extravaganza was the highlight of my month. But let's see what else has kept me moving, moving, moving:

I've covered so many amazinggg events and news topics this past month. Also, school this month is by far the most challenging class and I have so. much. retained. from. it. Honestly, so thankful and in love with my degree. To check out some of my footwork and so on, check out megkhyde.com

In the field, Soo fun!

Gotta eat and drink to be merry, right?

Fave recipe lately: broccoli with some Italian bread crumbs sprinkled over with olive oil and s&p and asparagus with feta set in oven on broil for 10-15 mins. Taste buds unite!

Current fave indulgence.

Anddd lastly, current fave words of inspiration to see every. day.:

And obvi some accessorizing has kept me away from this space per usual. Um, duh. I could be anywhere, anytime, any situation and let's be honest here...I'm going to be counting bracelets, hanging earrings, and plotting floral head gear.

Happy Weekend!

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center?              ...

Simple blessings

I’m lying in bed, next to a snoring husband and my baby girl dogter sprawled out cozy as can be, while the rain falls down upon our roof. Gone are the days of spending a Saturday night downtown at a club, throwing beers back in a honky think, or galavanting around to anywhere with the lights on. And I’m not mad about it. Not even a little bit. There is tilt no place I’d rather be than with hunter, Roni and our comfy sweet little home happily netflixing and writing this here post. It’s a good feeling indeed. I count my blessings extra on nights like this and say a few additional prayers for love and comfort to continue on. I truly don’t ask for more than health, happiness, and love. Anything else is gravy. To simple blessings for all.
